Winter Report
Winter time on the Georgia coast offers excellent sight fishing for redfish. As the water temperatures drop, redfish gather up in large schools and cruise shallow water mud flats in search of a meal. Couple this with crystal clear water, due to the low water temperatures, and you have an angling opportunity that is tough to beat. Cast an artificial lure in front of one of these hungry schools and expect instant results. Winter time is also a great time to fly fish. The redfish become a little more cautious in the clearer water and are easily spooked. A carefully placed fly offers a great advantage in these conditions. If you decide to bring your own equipment, a seven to nine weight outfit is ideal for our winter redfish, all leaders and flies will be provided for you. Georgia Light Tackle is also very happy to welcome Abel Reels and Scott High Performance Fly Rods to our team. Both companies have withstood the test of time and are proven winners. This is part of our continuing effort to provide top of the line equipment for our clients. Call Georgia Light Tackle Charters today and book your winter fishing trip.
